PhD in Economics, with more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, and a extensive background in academic research focused on digital assets, asset tokenization, CBDCs and stable coins. 

Previously he served as CEO of a Single Family Office and as Senior Advisor at Grant Thornton, participating in the founding of the firm's Blockchain and Crypto Lab and collaborating on multiple projects related to the intersection of technology and finance. 

In 2013 he founded an independent Global Macro fund and co-managed the fund until 2016. 

Mr. Fernández has extensive expertise in wealth management and asset management, given his performance in these areas of financial business between 2001 and 2012. 

He is a CAIA charterholder and member of EFPA.
